Who is Colette Bratton?

Colette who?💗

If we've not met, please let me introduce myself....

I'm Colette Bratton, and I'm on a mission to help the women who are trying to do it all...

To help the women who are trying to be a good mum, wife, daughter, aunt, carer, friend, colleague (insert any other life-role here) whilst also earning money to give their family the best life possible.

I understand the struggle - because it's exactly the situation I've been in since my son was born 16 years ago. And it's hard..

Working late into the night because you had to stop work to pick up the kids, give them their tea then chauffeur them to after-school activities. Working weekends to get things finished when there hasn't been enough hours in the week. Not spending enough quality time with the other half because your laptop is on your knee in an evening. Never feeling fully present when you're with your kids ('cos you're thinking about work) but also never feeling fully present at work (because you're thinking about the kids!).

If this is resonating with you, then you're in the right place!

I want women like us to not feel alone. I want to help us realise our worth and acknowledge that running a business as a woman comes with a unique set of challenges. Between school runs, childcare responsibilities, family commitments, caring for elderly relatives, household management and the countless other unseen tasks that keep family life running smoothly, business often has to fit into the gaps rather than taking centre stage.

Women like us, who are trying to build businesses between 9.15am and 3pm, working around school holidays, rearranging diaries when children are unwell, and juggling competing demands on their time and energy need to work differently. Some of the 'traditional' business methods just don't work when you have limited hours of interrupted work time.

I created Superwoman Solopreneur to support these women. To provide practical business growth strategies, marketing hacks, mindset shifts and motivational boosts. To help women earn in different ways through passive income opportunities, so the money can come in even when there aren't enough hours. To help us remember that we can enlist the help of the universe and add some manifesting into the mix to achieve what we're after easier.

I want to provide a loving, supportive and encouraging community to help us all be the best we can be at whatever role we're playing at the time. As a business owner, to build profitable businesses that work around our lives, instead of us having to sacrifice key moments because we need to keep money coming in. As an employee with a side-hustle, to help you have the confidence to make the right decisions for your future. And as a key cog in your family wheel, with multiple roles and responsibilities, to help you realise your worth, look after yourself, and put into action as many time-saving tips as possible!

To join the community, just head over to https://www.facebook.com/groups/superwomansolopreneurs. I didn't want to create a group with loads of rules, so use the group as you need to. Ask for help, promote your business, mention your events, do market research, make new friends.

Wow - that was a lot! But now at least you know who I am and what I'm passionate about.

Outside business, I'm a daughter, wife, and mom to two amazing teenagers. My life is crazy hectic as child-chauffeur, dance-mom, dad-PA and home-maker - but I wouldn't change any of it. Now the children are growing up, I'm just starting to find me again. To remember who I was before my identity just became 'mom' - so I'm trying to get back to the things I loved doing before there was no time to do them once kids arrived. I'm enjoying going to the gym again, and I love swimming most mornings when the schedule allows. My body started to show the signs of neglect over the years, so I'm now trying to prioritise my health more. I also enjoy reading, learning to knit, family days out, going out for food / coffee / drinks and generally having fun. I love holidays exploring new places. And I love learning! I'm never happier than when my head is stuck in a new course... 🤣

I'm also a host on Lichfield Radio, my local community radio station, with two shows. One is a 70s music show called 'Hot Stuff! 70s Rewind' and the other is close to my mission to raise awareness of how difficult it can be as a working parent. It's called Work, Kids, Repeat! and I'm always looking for guests to come and chat to me about their own personal working around children stories. Feel free to message me at [email protected] if you're local to Lichfield in the UK (as you'd need to come to the studio in person) and would like to come on the show. 😀

But that's enough about me. I'd love to learn more about you. If you're a woman who runs her own business, please join the online Facebook community and tell me more about what floats your boat and any way I can help you.
